Default Working Visa

I have a friend here on holiday at the moment, shes actually due to
return to the UK next Saturday but shes been offered a job as she is a
chef. Does anyone know what she can do to enable her to work here, ie
change her visa over to a working visa? She would like to do this
whilst she is still here if possible and not bother going back to the
UK next week.

Any ideas anyone on how to arrange all of this quite quickly?

Thanks

Maxine

The employer would have to sponsor her on a business visa in the quick
term if they are willing to do that. That could take 2-3 weeks. In the
meantime the ETA that she is on or Visitor Visa should be checked its
not expiring (either in the 3 month or 12 month limits). She must not
work until the sponsored visa is approved. If she is under 30 then a WHV
can be obtained but this takes a little while longer. Any other working
visa takes alot longer to obtain and may result in long delays in being
able to work.

Suggest she talks to her employer about sponsorship.
