Default working holiday visa

I realize this isn't on immigration but it is linked, does anyone know
if you can apply for a working holiday visa before you are 18. I realize
the visa starts from 18 and that is when it would be used. We are
booking a flight for my daughter who has her PR visa and also need to
book for her boyfriend who is 18 in may they are traveling in May. Good
flight deals available at the mo so want to book but not sure if i
should risk it!! Have looked on immi.gov site but couldn't find the
info needed.

thanks

No - you cant do it.

You must be 18 years old when the application is made.

He'll also have to leave Australia to apply for it - it's not possible
to apply for a WHV while in Australia. However British citizens do not
have to apply for WHVs in the UK - it would be quite possible to apply
to the Australian Consulate in Auckland, NZ, for example.

I dont know if this is always the case but for info my sister applied
for her WHV yesterday on line, she went in to check the status less than
a minute later and it was already granted.

If only all visa's were that quick eh
