Thanks for all the advice and info on this forum. I recieved my
permanent residency visa 2 weeks ago. I had been living in Melbourne on
a working holiday visa then a business sponsor visa, so I had to return
to the UK to have my passport evidenced.
With the WH visa I worked for the same company for about 8 months so I
wouldnt be to concerned about the stipulation of only working for 3
months with the one employer.
I was then sponsored by this company and recieved a temp business
sponsor visa that would have lasted until 2006. This took about 6 weeks
to process. However Melbourne business centre lost my application after
the visa was approved. I then had to complete the forms again and the
visa was granted on the spot.
My permanent residency visa took just under 52 weeks to be processed. It
was all pretty painless. The only problem was a change of circumstances
form that was lost.
I informed my case offficer that I was returning to the UK for my
sisters wedding 1 month before departure date. My case officer told me
she would grant my visa when I left. This was even before she had
received my police certificates, which where stuck in a backlog.
I then checked in for my flight, moved through customs- was momentarily
quizzed- and returned to the UK. Sent my passport to London to be
evidenced, this took 2 days via recorded delivery, not the 7-10 days
stated by the AHC.
Went to the wedding, had a great time and then returned to Melbourne
last week no questions asked.
Easy really...
cheers
