Default working hol visa/4 year sponsorship

has anyone got into Auz this way???

hello

My partner has just been
offered a 4 year sponsorship visa for Auz.
We have been told that we
both need to apply for a working holiday visa first, then when we get
to Auz, he needs to apply for jobs that will pay a min of $49,000 per
year.
Once he gets an interview for a job he can tell them that he is
able to start work straight away on his working visa, initally for 3
months and if they will keep him on after 3 months then he has a
company willing to sponsor him for 4 years.
If they employ him then I
can go on to his sponsership as a defacto relationship with him for 4
years.
So really we have a year to find a company who will agree to
employee him for this salary.

He is working now and has been for 2
years as an engineering geololgist, doing site investigation and site
reports etc....and he has a degree.

I was wondering if anyone knows
any geologists/companies/average salaries or where are the most jobs
for this type of work?????

Any help would be very useful, as we are
now trying to assess how risky this is, are these salaries too high or
are they feasable, or if it would be better applying on a skilled
migration visa with sponsorship from my auntie who lives in Perth??

does anyone know of anyone who has gotton into auz this way before or
has anyon done it by this route??

can anyone help as we are soooo
confused???

laura

In theory what you propose will work.

I would be concerned that
there are areas where you could be open to disappointment if you dont
get a job etc.

Why don't you apply now for a long stay business visa? Who has given you
this advice re going out on a WHV then trying to get sponsorship for a
business visa?

Many companies specify that you need a valid long stay
work visa to work for them, trying to get them to even interview your
partner for a permanent post with just a WHV would be hard.

My partner
has been offered a job with an australian company that advertised in
England, and they are sorting out the visa as part of the job offer.

The minimum salary for Engineering Geologists is $37,720. It is
around $49,000 for sponsored IT people.

Your would start looking for work in that field by looking on
Australian job search web-sites such as www.seek.com.au and
www.careerone.com.au. That will give you some idea of where to look
when you arrive.

thanks Jerry

So do you think that we should
do it that way then, by WHV, and then getting a sponsor over there?? Or
would I be better off waiting till Jan when he has 2 years work exp and
we can calim our 125 points?
I am worried that things might change
between then and now and that it will take ages, when I could take a
chance and go there now.
I paid a migration agent £100 and they said we
couldnt go, so I lost my money, but since researching it myself I have
discovered all sorts of ways and i am now unable to decide............

Any advice is welcome, as I am cracking up:confused:

thanks

hi richard

they were called the immigration group, i paid
£200 to them on my visa card, i filled in an assessment form, they
basically said, no you cant go come back in 2 years time and we will
assess you then. I complained and got £100 back, but lost the rest.
They never offered me any alternative ways to go or they werent even
prepared to answer any questions etc...etc...They wouldnt tell me how
much they would charge for the whole process aswell so if i had of
continued with them they could of charged me anything.

I relise that I
can fill in all of the forms without an agent now, but I just needed
some one to talk to with regards to advice on how we could get there
quickest in our situation. This website has been a total Godsend and
helped me more than anythingover the last few weeks, and I have
discovered that there are many options out there for me to pursue.
I
would like to say thankyou to yourself and all of the other nice people
who i have met through this site.

Always use a MARA registered Agent (if you or anyone else decides to use
one) Some people do not need to use an agent and their case is so
straight forward they should do it themself.

There are some scam
merchants out there who claim to be registered and arent.

There are
some agencies who have a registered agent who works in the company but
is not the person you are dealing with (as happens in my firm too) - but
often as not it is best to use a registered agent who you can sit down
with and discuss the specifics of your case.

thanks Richard

I looked on my
letter and he wasnt registered (i dont think) he was a visa
administrator, whatever one of them are????and didnt have those numbers
after his name like you.

How much would I expect to pay, just for a
disscussion as I feel ok to fill in application on my own, just have odd
questions....How much do you charge for disscussions????
