Default work refs

my app for skilled indep 136 is to be sent of in next few weeks. my main
worry is to do with my work refs. i am a teacher and the first school i
worked for is now closed and the headteacher i worked under therefore
retired. the school i work at now has just moved to a new site and will
get a new name in September. do i need to make these points clear in a
letter to DIMIA with my application? i intend to leave the school i am
at now at the end of the school year and it is changing names, so should
i also put this in the letter?
how much checking do DIMIA do anyway. do
they chek all work exp letters?
all help is really appreciated
cheers

DIMIA are quite serious abuot checking references. If you do a search
in the archives, you will note that people (even those from the UK) have
had their references checked by DIMIA recently.

I would write a
covering letter describing your situation. And also take out a Statutory
Declaration stating that your previous employers have packed up and so
on.

both schools are still there, the first school now as a
new name and new management and the second school as a new name due to
moving to a new building, so as new address. both the people who have
provided refs can be contacted, one through a home address and one who
is still at the school.
cheers
