Default work in australia

Hi everyone,
Me and my family are considering emergrating to Australia and are
currently looking at Melbourne. My wife is just finishing her last year
teacher training and i work on the railways here in England. I have 3
children 16 daughter in college, 13 and 8 years old still at school. I
would appreciate any information that anyone can offer to us on
imagration and general living in Melbourne eg, cost of living, jobs,
education, housing ect.
Many thanks

Well for what it is, Melbourne regularly scores in the top few as the most
liveable city in the world on some "surveys", it has a very strong sporting
culture.

Hi,

You may have already read it, but start by looking at booklet 6 -
www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1119.pdf

Your options will depend on applicants age, skills, relatives in
Australia and if you have a job offer.

Is your job on the SOL? If not, you ,may have to use your wifes skills
in the visa application which may require 12 months work experience.

Good luck!

Hi
We're in same situation, just about to complete PGCE next month. Got an
Uncle who works for train company in Melbourne, hoepfully in Melbourne
in 2008/09.
Have to say if not been to Melbourne I'd go before you go making plans
to move there, we loved it but other areas of Aus nicer climate. We
mainly decided to go there as lots of family in Victoria.
