1. Posting a question in a newsgroup means reading asnwers in the newsgroup
aswell.
2. People can guess, but there's no certainty on where you are in the world
(or where in the US you're travelling from).
3. When is Thanksgiving? :-S

I just bought an IAD-AMS round trip for that period for $403 off Orbitz. How
cheap were you hoping for?

When exactly were you elected Queen of Newsgroup decorum?

I was looking for people's online ticket expertise. Where I am travelling from
makes no difference.

Of course it does. I was going to say, www.ryanair.co.uk with fares
from 2 pounds (plus tax) (but someone helped you out first).

Would thus have been any use to you?

Tim

Thur was merely reporting standard practice.

It makes an awful lot of difference, unless you want to be directed to
airlines that don't serve the country you're starting from.

Intriguing: are you under the impression that only US readers join in
this group?

"Thanksgiving" is a quite meaningless term for anyone who doesn't live
in North America -- and even within North America, there are two dates
when "Thanksgiving" is celebrated.

Somehow I doubt that. Why would you assume that someone from Europe
knows the date of an American holiday?

We all mostly side with him. His comment has been appropriate for
most of the history of Usenet.

Are you Canadian? Australian? American? It can make a hell of a
difference.

You posted a question to an international newsgroup and you
expect Germans or others to know when YOU celebrate Thanksgiving?
I assume you're an American since you seem so lame. In which case
Thanksgiving is the last Thursday of November and the airlines
aren't stupid enough to have low fares available over an American
holiday.

If you're Canadian and celebrate Thanksgiving in October it might
be a different story.

You definitely got yourself off on the wrong foot in this
newsgroup.
