Default When and how to send form 80?

I'm very confused about when to send in form 80. I just send in my Skilled -
Sponsored application, without the form 80, and it was received by DIMIA
last week. While I was impatiently waiting for DIMIA to acknowledge my
application, I was browsing the messages on this NG. Some say form 80 should
be included with the application while others say it could be sent in when
requested. As I'm inclined to send in the form 80 now but I haven't got an
acknowledgement or file number from DIMIA yet. Just what should I do?

a ) Send it anyway with a cover letter to explain that it should be included
in my application.
b) Wait until DIMIA will acknowledge my application and will give me a file
number, hopefully in the few days.
c) Wait until it will be requested, many months later.

Also, has an application ever been rejected simply because a form 80 is
missing?

TIA
LC

LC,

Your application will not be rejected simply on the basis of your not
including Form 80 at the time of lodgement.

Wait for DIMIA to send you your Ref File number, then send your Form
80 duly completed. Read Form 47P for instructions and details on
character checks.

Peter,

Yeah, waiting for the ref number before sending off the form 80 seems to be
a very sensible thing to do right now. I just hope DIMIA won't make me wait
for months before they'll give me a ref number. Anyway, I think I'll send
them the form if I don't hear from them for more than a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the response.
