You were a nonimmigrant temporary visitor for business or
pleasure. If you were on holiday you were admitted NC (non controlled)
or B2 (temporary visitor for pleasure). If for business meetings the
you were admitted NC (non controlled) or B1 (temporary visitor for
business).
Either way, you should not have received any income from
the U.S. during these trips.
