Default What is status of the spouse of lottery winner after they both arrived and have acquired the green card?

If I won the green card lottery, and brought my husband of 2 years
from overseas to live with me, after we got our green cards upon
arrival, what would be our status?

Does the green card lottery give you auto unconditional status for 10
years, or are you still under "conditional status" for the first 2
years before interview at 2 year date, the same way as say if a green
card holder was approved to bring his spouse without winning the visa
lottery?

IE does winning the green card lottery automatically give you a 10
year green card for yourself and for your spouse if you bring them in,
and you don't have to go through any more interviews to change your
status after 2 years?

Thank you.

Conditional status is only applicable to spouses who get green cards through
immediate relative petitions (children of the alien spouse would also get
conditional status). So, it would not be the same if you won the diversity
lottery - it would be a 10 year GC.

Hi Andy, sorry I don't understand. Do you mean the green card lottery
winner and his spouse are automatically given 10 year green cards with
no conditions, and not needing to do a 2 year after arrival interview?

Thanks.

To be clear.. There is no 10 year green card status. The card itself is
good for 10 years, the resident status doesn't expire.

There is no conditional status. However, it the green card was obtained
fraudulently, then it can be revoked.

If you friend entered on a DV-1 visa, she should know what her current
status is.
My understanding that, as an "immigrant visa", permanent resident
status is granted at the POE as with other immigrant visas.

Yes, that's what I said "it would be a 10 year GC". As mrtraveltay says
that's the expiration of the card not the status.

This wouldn't happen to be the same "friend" you're talking about here,
would it?

If it is, then he/she did enter fraudulently. And as
Mrraveltay stated, their greencard could be revoked.
