We have recieved info on monday that our employer was approved as
sponsor by DIMA. Our medicals were finalised on June 02nd so whats
taking them to approve our visa (457)????
I'm on the DIMA site every hour to check via online service but thats
not helping either

How is everybody else coping with this frustrating waiting???

I wouldn't know, sorry, but I would like to ask you what is this online
service DIMIA provides on their web site??? You can track your
application if you lodged it electronically??

Yes thats right, if you lodged the application online you can check the
status. You can see every step they take, it says things like
"application being processed further" or "medicals received" "medicals
finalised". That was the last message, so now we are waiting waiting
waiting...

Did you lodge electronically? if yes all you need is your Transaction
Referennce Number and your passport number and check ahead

Hi

first post, although i beleive my wife posts here regularly. I too
submitted 457 application may06 (with more than the requested supporting
documentation), medicals and xrays finalised on 14 june 06 - exactly the
same as you now- status=' processing commenced' nothing further has
been recieved by ourselves and no further info requested from IMMI. you
sound like my wife - she also checks everyhour and wakes in the middle
of the night to get me to check again

i guess its just a waiting game - i am going to email my case officer
today - will let you know what response i get on monday.

I am also applying for a 457. I lodged my application on 13/6 and found
out who my CO was from my sponsor. I spoke to him today because of an
issue with hubbies medical and he explained that he has over 120
application lodged with him at the moment. He is trying to work his way
through as quickly as possible but I can't see him getting to me for at
least another 2 weeks.

The waiting is killing as I want to get these meds sorted so that it
doesn't delay my application further. He did assure me however that the
process is taking 4 weeks if it is clear cut. Perhaps as your sponsor
has only just been approved, you are in the queue with me? Don't know,
just an idea.

Please post when you hear anything or get your visa!

Where did you lodge your application?

I lodged at Perth Business Centre, fee left my a/c 3 and a half weeks
ago but I haven't heard a squeak since. Getting worried as house sale
due to complete in 4 weeks time.

i emailed the case officer on friday to ensure they had all necessary
paperwork etc, and asking for an estimate of time - like i said - i

/ next day)

When I checked mine last night we basically had he same (except for
hubby having meds referred). Sponsorship agreed and lodged application
when sponsor realised he had forgotten to nominate me. Phoned that day
with number and lodged immediately.

We are all in the race together with the finishing tape in view, why
can't we get there?

We also applied in Perth Business centre. Have just agreed to send email
to our case officer "offering any information necessary to speed up the
process" or something of the kind. Dont want to be waiting for nothing
just because the nomination went wrong :scared:
also getting a bit worried the Ozzies are too much into the Worldcup and
not our visa - should calmdown after tomorrow though
