This is the best news I have had all _year_. Unlimited congratulations to
the brave men and women who pulled it off.

While I agree wholeheartedly that the French and German _governments_ should
eat shit, I think the people of those 2 nations, along with the residents of
Iraq and other Arab nations so crudely characterised by the OP, probably
just want to get on with their lives in peace and prosperity. The Allied
progress in Iraq will eventually create a beacon of democratic stability in
the region but we shouldn't hold our breath waiting for it to happen. Here
in the UK, it took 30 years of terrorism before the parties in the Northern
Ireland conflict came to the table (and something tells me it will be at
least another 10 before things completely calm down).

The free, rational world is out-evolving the religious fudamentalists. We
_will_ win. But there's a lot of pain to go through yet.
