Default Visa granted letter received!

Arrived home from work yesterday, checked my e-mails, and there it
was - the "Visa granted" letter!! what a shock. We had received an
earlier email about a fortnight ago to say that our CO was off until
Feb. although her workload was being re-distributed, we weren't
expecting to hear anything further until next month.

I only discovered "Getting down under" about 10 days ago, and posted my
intro on the site, with a few questions as we are not using an agent and
wasn't sure how much of the process we still had to go through. The next
thing I know, we get the letter - brilliant.

Following the initial six month wait for them to get to our
application, everything esle has happened within six weeks.

Now the panic is setting in. In addition to all the tarting up on the
house, after yesterday's storms I also have a garden fence to replace.
At least I can crack on with everything in the happy knowledge that we
will hopefully be using a oneway ticket in a few months time.

Good luck to everyone.

Gary

Hi - we applied for class 136 independant skilled visa (my wife's a
nurse). the time line went like this - docs for verification of nurse
training experience sent to Oz mid April, these came back approved mid
may, visa application sent 01.06.06, asked to get meds and police
checks done end November, these done and despatched fist week Jan 2007,
visa granted letter received 18.01.07!

All the best
