Hi Kash

Thanks a lot for your proactive message...

I was planning to move vancouver soon and was searching apartments...I
wanted to stay intially for 1 month somewhere to get feel of vancouver
and then get a 1bdr apartment. I was looking for some where in westend
downtown...or some other safer places.

Please let me know whether you can help in some way..

Thanks

Hello,
See the lower mainland map attached herewith LowerMainlandMap.gif

The place where you are looking is in Vancouver marked as B which is one of
the most expensive areas.
I really do not know if any one would rent you a apartment for month as
usually the apartment is rented for a minimum
of six months, and then renewed every month or cancelled at one months
notice. If you have to leave in the first month
you got to have a very good reason for the renting company to return your
security deposit which is usually one or half months rent.
See the web page www.aptrentals.net and you can compare rent costs.

As far as safe is concerned all places are safe do avoid Hastings in
Vancouver in the above web page.

Place to stay depends on your requirements I.e. type of work, I do know of
people driving every day from Abbotsford to Vancouver.

If you have to commute by the public transport initially see the web page
www.translink.bc.ca and you should get a fair idea of travel times
from various address to down town Vancouver. If you do not know any down
town address just use Waterfront Station as your destination,
which is down town.

Feel free to ask more questions, if you know of any rental address from the
above web page or otherwise let me now and I shall give you
fair travel times to down town. Bear in mind there are offices in down town
but Richmond and other places have manufacturing establishments.

My husband says you should look at the website http://www.rentbc.com/
to find places to rent, he says it's a really good site.

You might want to look at Mission and Maple Ridge.

There is a commuter service from those locations (West Coast
Express)

Do a google search on www.google.ca (ca not com)

For phrase ues the following in various combinations:

Rent, Rental, Property, Unit, Basement, Townhouse, Apartment, Vancouver,
Lower mainland, BC

You shall get a very long list. Do let me know if you like any address I can
do a relistic check of travel
times to downtown by own vehicle or public transport for you.

I drive to downtown vancouver daily at 6.15 am from Richmond and I am there
in 20 minutes, return at
3pm is almost double time.
