Default Vaccination Supplement for K-3er Working on AOS

Hi K-1/K-3 Experts:

My wife is in the U.S. on a K-3. In the process of applying for her K-
3, she's received a full medical exam overseas. Per I-485 instruction,
a K-1er (probably applicable for a K-3er too since the form was
published prior to K-3) who did a full medical overseas in less than a
year does not have to repeat a full medical check again for AOS and
instead a vaccination supplement would suffice.

From my research on Internet, most of those CIS approved surgeons refuse
to do just a vaccination supplement and instead demand a full medical
exam (so they can make more $$$).

Does anyone have good luck using the vaccination documentation worksheet
(DS-3025) given to them as a result of the overseas medical check to
fulfill the requirement of vaccination supplment for AOS?

Can any one share their experience with the San Jose, CA sub office on
this matter?

Lastly, does anyone know a CIS approved physician who would do just a
vaccination supplement in the San Jose area?

Thank you in advance!

Alex

Hey Alex:)

Many Doctors want to charge for the full medical not being necessary.
Has it been a year since she had her medical?, I have heard USCIS is
extending the validity of the medicals.. so even if it has been a year
she should be ok.
There has to be Dr's in the Sacramento area that can do the vaccination
supplement. Check this link
out:http://uscis.gov/graphics/exec/cs/LocateSurgeon.asp Hope that helps!
Good Luck

Yep, he said it was less than a year.

Not true! The extension of the validity of the medical is only AFTER AOS
has been filed - not before. My medical was a year and a half old before
I could file AOS so I had to take another one. The extension is for
medicals that people submitted WITH their AOS application because
processing times are so long in some places that it takes more than a
year from application until interview. Here's the link
http://uscis.gov/graphics/lawsregs/h...xtMem10804.pdf

But if the original medical from his home country is less than a year
old, which is what he said, then he should be ok if he files before it's
a year old.
Hope that helps!

As far as if the original vaccination supplement will be sufficient, I
would call USCIS and ask.

Susie
