Ummm... was that post meant to alienate anyone that can't speak English
well?

No need. I purposefully chose a news story that would get a reaction out of
people, so it's not surprising you dismissed it as yet another epic thread
generator. The point I was trying to make was somewhat subtle, and hidden in
sarcasm, like much of what I say.
Still, it resulted in some interesting responses.

QED. You missed the point I think.

If a post exudes massive amounts of heavy, syrupy sarcasm, taking it at face
value is often a good method for bursting the bubble.
The original poster likely intended nobody to take it at face value, hence the
value of throwing it back, especially when very often the same kinds of
criticisms from the same poster are in dead earnest.
I saw Keith's post as a sort of subtle Bronx Cheer.
If I'm not reading too much into it, Way To Go. Nex

Lest you be only wandering blindly thru the societal maze, you may have
missed that this was an African American household (where the female
children were thriving), for which we'll let Mxsmanic deliver solemn
statistically enhanced pontifcation/obfuscation, making the case that while
Arabs may embugger their flocks and gang rape the neighborhood damsels,
AfAmer households inevitably starve their sons, natural or foster, the
heaten Chinee expose their infant daughters on barren hillsides instead of
binding their feet, and those dastardly Frawgs bar their womenfolk (except
models, showgirls and boarders at maisons de convenience) from working
after 10PM, so that they may be readily available, knees up and receptive,
to make up population losses brought about by wars and Gauloise-induced
sexual indifference on the part of the men
Incidents and anecdotes are hardly prognostication of societal trends.

You get anti UK just the same, there are always people who feel
clever posting some lame jibe, today there was IIRC Brits don't
tip, Brits drink too much and a lame attempt to upset people
with something or other about Sterling. People just assume there
will be lots of Brits and Yanks to insult here. There has also
been no shortage of Americans posting anti French nonsense.
I though US parents starves kids makes a change from the usual
Americans too fat threads.
