Gavinni,
I say this gently and kindly and in the most respectful way possible.
Know yourself and your limitations. Some people do not have the
patience, the anal-retentiveness/attention to detail, the time and
energy, the confidence, and/or the heart to do their immigration filing
themselves. I equate the difficulty level to filing your own taxes --
complete with write-offs and schedule A -- for the very first time,
yourself, without benefit of software programs like TurboTax. It's not
impossible by any stretch of the imagination. If you can read
directions over and over until you understand them, follow those
instructions closely, dot your i's and cross your t's, go over
everything yet again, then you are perfectly capable to doing your own
filing. But not everyone can do this, and not everyone wants to do
this. Be honest with yourself. If this is not something you can
manage, if you need more guidance, if you want more "surety" that you
are doing things correctly -- then hire an immigration attorney.
Good luck whichever way you decide to go.
