Default Unhappy Stuck between a rock and hard place

Oh this is so frustrating. I utilised a company called Access Migration
Services back in June 2006 to get me a Skilled permanent Visa. So far
after delays and hitches I have only got to the ANMC skills assessment
stage which isnt completed yet due to documents going missing. 8-9
months down the line and access migration promised 6-9 months at max for
the whole stage and the visa hasnt been lodged yet to dima because of
their fee and the dima fee it comes to over £2200!
So I decided to look at different visas to get me to Oz a little faster.
The Royal Perth Hospital will sponsor me and they reckon it will take
3-6 months total. However the problems I have now is that I have paid
fees to access migration and they stress that I wont benefit going on
the work sponsored route as I will have healthcare and costs deducted
from my wages by the RPH that I wouldnt incur if I was a permanent
resident!
I really dont know what to do I want to go on the sponsorship but my
migration consultant recommends I stick with the permanent visa
application. Are they just saying it for their fees???
RPH say they can sponsor me for permanent visa after 6 months anyway.
Which will be the most cost effective? Any advice gladly taken!! I am
pulling my hair out!

People keep telling me to go on with the permanent. Cant I not go
sponsored and apply for a permanent residency visa anyway??

They can sponsor you for a permanent visa immediately if you meet the
requirements. That said, it might still be simplest just to proceed
with your own permanent visa application.

Why have things taken so long already?

Hi I have no idea why it has taken so long already. I paid my fee to
the migration agent. The communications were poor and they lost
documents at the ANMC then found them yesterday in their own filing
system they had filed my paperwork in the wrong section apparently!!!
Just been unlucky I think.
Thing is if we continue with the application I will have to pay the
agent fee of £700 and the visa fee of $1900 I think they said it was
together. I cant see why I should pay the fee just to lodge the visa to
my agent when I can do it just as well if not faster myself.
I have found their service unhelpful at best and everytime I have a
problem or an issue or question their service I get a snotty email back
from them. So If we pursue a permanent visa I think it will be from
scratch as I cant see the agent passing on all my info back to me. We
already paid £400 fee to the agent plus the skills assessment fee
when I have done all the chasing and document filling in all I can see
that they have done is posted it to the ANMC which in my opinion is not
worth the fee they are charging!
Any info about proceeding on our own would be appreciated. Especially
getting our case files back from the agent in question because at this
current time the ANMC are only communicating with the agent and refuse
to talk to me without a case number which after asking my agent they
will not disclose.

tbh maybe you should just accept that you've lost the money you've
given to the agent and go sponsored especially if they will do the PR
as well, it should be very simple and straight forward if you already
have a job. The biggest risk as far as I'm concerned is if you don't
like the job you have to stick with it for quite a while if you stay on
the temp visa.

Good luck believe me I've been waiting about a year longer than you and
it is very stressful being in Limboland.

Hi,
I didnt meet the recent work experience requirement for a permanent visa
due to career break to have the kids. The hospital that offered me a job
has sponsored me on a permanent visa which should take about 6 months to
go through, without the recent work experience. The visa I think they are
offering you is a business visa and you end up paying more tax etc and
arent entitled to medicare and family benefit.I was originally offered
this option but said no so they offered me permanent visa instead.
try asking the hospital again cos in reality it will only be another
couple of months longer than the option you are considering and will
save you money in the long run.
As for your agent, they sound terrible and I would check my contract to
see if you are entitled to a refund.
Good Luck
Andy

When approached the Royal Perth Hospital said that the governement had
stopped them offering permanent work visas. Dont know how true this is?
Or maybe RPH have stopped permanent sponsorships altogether?
I am carrying on with the permanent visa anyway, just if the temp visa
gets us there sooner all the better

There is no embargo on employer nominated visas. In fact, for those who
meet the requirements, it's a lot easier than it used to be to get one
as "labour market testing" is usually not required any more.
