Default Uk family wanting to move to Canada - help on that first step ?

HI there,

We are new to this group but it looks like it should help us.

Me and my family consisting of me, hubby and 7 year old daughter want
to emmigrate from UK to either Nova Scotia (first choice) or possibly
BC or Alberta.

Hubby is a Network Manager and also runs his own software company, I
have worked for a major savings and investment bank for the last 15
years.

We are 29, and 32 years old and want to move out there before our
little girl gets too older so that we hope she will be able to settle
into school and do well.

Has anyone done a similar thing at our times of life and how did they
get on with adapting to the new way of life ? We will be able to take
across $150,000.00 CAD after the sale of our home in Yorkshire and hope
to only have a smallish mortgage - but want to have a large
garden/maybe acreage as we have two dogs

What we want to know if what would be our first step ? who are the
best people to approach and has anyone any experience of using a firm
to help you get settled and a job etc ?

Many thanks in advance for any help anyone can give us.

Thanks

Rachel, Adrian and Molly

Not a large IT framework in Nova Scotia, there's only 1/2 million people in
the province,
but houses are affordable,
Our broker paid 62K for his building, 2 floors river frontage park views WOW

In Halifax Central 200-300K houses, 20minutes out of town down to100-200K
with 150K in NS you are RICH

First step www.cic.gc.ca to see if you qualify as a skilled worker.
Second, if you qualify prepare to wait, it is taking about 24-50 months for
an application through London
Third Take a look at the PNP program in Nova Scotia and BC which may be
quicker.
http://www.novascotiaimmigration.com/nsnp/
http://www.ecdev.gov.bc.ca/ProgramsA.../PNP/index.htm

Note 150K is no going to give you much of down payment in BC. Check out
MLS.ca in the various provinces for what is for sale.

For people who applied two years ago, perhaps: but people who apply
today are being told not to contact CHC asking where their application
got to until at least three and a half years have passed.

If you want to move in a reasonable amount of time, you'll probably
need to look into the Provincial Nominee Program: though even that
might not guarantee faster processing anymore.

Talking Re: Uk family wanting to move to Canada - help on that first step ?

You can Immigrate in an average of eight months through the economic stream of Nova Scotia Nominee Program you can see it on my site at www.cvimmigration.com or go to www.cic.gc.ca then click on the link To Immigrate left side. Then Provincial Nominee then Nova Scotia then Economic Stream.

It costs but if time is of an essence it seriously has benifits.

If you email me privately I'll forward you the FAQ of the program. The last time I wrote about this I got interviewed three times by CBC radio so did the Provincial Immigration Minister.

You also need to look at www.mls.ca to see the real cost of housing in the Province that varies from place to place.
