Default Type Marrage Certificate for P3 ?

Hi all,

When we got married earlier this year we received a certificate from the
minister, stamped and signed etc. That's the certificate we have used
for all the applications thus far. Also, it's the same one my wife has
used for her name change in the US on multiple occasions.

I just got the packet 3 and it asks for an "Original civil marriage
certificate is required. The certificate must show that it is an
extract from official records and must bear the seal of the issuing
authority".

Does anyone know if that means that I need to apply for one from the
province. (I've already done that last week just incase but it will take
4-6 weeks!!). Or can I use the same one we've used in the past, which
although it is the original is not an extract from the records.

Thanks,

Kevin

Well, it seems to me if that's what they want, that's what you
should send.

Better to wait for the "copy", don't want to be sending off the original
and losing it...

Well, they want a copy sent in but I guess the original needs to be
taken to the interview. I don't want what the difference is, the
format of the marriage certificate that I will be receiving in the
mail is different from that which we already have given to us on our
wedding day.

Either which, we won't be sending in the original.
