Also, my hint, I have never been able to decide from the outside which
end of the car is which (in Italy). But you can look through the
windows and spot the numbers above the seats. This will give you an
idea which end of the car to board.

The reason for sticking with airline size carry-on luggage is that the
aisles on the EuroStar trains are not any wider than the aisles in the
economy section of most airlines. Bags any wider just don't fit. When
people get on at the wrong end of the car and try to make their way to
the other end, it becomes a major traffic jam.

The only problem is that occasionally an eurostar consist arrives
reversed in relation to the charts.

#1 Buy first class tickets.
#2 You have to stow the bags yourself, so the lighter and fewer, the
better. You are the mule......... Get there early. The train leaves on
time. Trust me, chasing down the platform dragging two or three bags with
a couple minutes left is for the birds. Been there, done that. Trust me,
it sucks.
#3 Getting off requires anticipation. Usually where you want off, so
does everyone else. You have to get the bags off while someone else stands
beside the ones you stack on the platform. Otherwise, they're
unattended......
#4 It's not hard. Pay attention. Have fun. Folks are wonderful.

It also helps to check where your car will stop on the platform. The
station charts help.
