Travel to Canada on I-94
My visa has expired but I have a valid H1-B status. The I-94 shows
that I am in status. I am planning on going to Canada. I have learnt that I can go to canada and return within 30 days on the I-94. I do not have to get a fresh visa from Canada. Is this true? I am originally from Bangladesh which is on the list of 26 countries that have to go through background checks for a US visa which I have heard can take several months. So I do not want to go to Canada and apply for a visa and get stuck there and lose my job. What are your thoughts and comments/ideas? Can I go to canada and come back on I-94 within 30 days?
