Default TRA Job Description

I work for an engineering company as a mechanical/maintenance fitter.
I want to apply to the TRA as 4112-11 FITTER. Would you say my job fits
this as a sub category, or not ?
Thanks, Gray.

Hi,

Have just sent off our TRA, and after initial apprenticeship hubby
worked as mechanical/maintenance fitter, so we just put fitter on the
form. Will let you know how we get on.

Hi Guys

The TRA do not pay much attention to what you nominate your occupation
as on the application form. They go with their own judgment based on
the skills you demonstrate through references and qualifications and
pay particular attention to the training period of your work
experience.

Tracey, if your husband was trained as a Mechanical Fitter, you may
find that the TRA will class him as this for his skills assessment.

Cheers,

You need to look behind the job title and establish (and demonstrate to
TRA) what you actually do at work (and what you do it with).

You have a link to the underlying ASCO Code descriptors on the ABS
website - if you are still uncertain and think you may need some
guidance feel able to contact us for a free initial chat:
http://www.gomatilda.com/contact.cfm#appraisal

Best regards.
