Default Timeline for sponsored parents

We are in England. After waiting a long long time our son has now
received permission to sponsor us and we have sent off the formal
application. Does anyone have any idea how long it will take now that
we have actually got started on the process.

When did your son apply to sponsor you?

There is no way to tell actually. All depends on the current workload
and also on which official is handling your file. I have seen multiple
people sponsoring their parents from the same country. For some it took
about 2 years and for others it took over 4 years.

In Europe, about one third of the sponsorship application gets process
within 2 years. most of them gets prossed within 3 years, but for the
rest it takes about 4 years or so. For more info, you can visit cic
website and look for average prossesing time by region.

Not sure when he actually submitted the paperwork but it was
acknowledged in July 2004.
