Very wet deaf zombies. In Britain I could imagine that such an event
would be fuelled by alcohol, but the kids I saw following the floats
seemed to be sober. Deranged, but sober. Very odd!

Why is it odd? Kids can buy and drink alcohol at any age in France - so they don't feel
they need/have to!

What's odd is that a load of kids should dance along behind a truck
blaring music at (literally) painful levels in the torrential rain
without being drunk - why else would you do such a thing?
