Spousal visa or Prospective? + Adolescent education
I am an Australian resident currently working in Ukraine. I have been
living here with my fiancée, A, since August 2006. A is divorced with
a 15 year old daughter N, who is academically gifted. A owns her own
apartment here and I live with them both for the duration of my work.
We successfully obtained a tourist visa for A in December when we both
came over for Xmas ( the daughter stayed here with A's mother). The
Tourist visa included details of how I would be sponsoring A and
included a No Further Stay promise.
I will be returning to Australia in April but want to start the process
and organise things before I leave Ukraine in March. We are thinking of
getting married here soon (I have an Australian single status
certificate and apostille stamp).
Opinions sought regarding if it would be best to get married here and
apply for a spousal visa or apply for a prospective marriage visa and
then marry in Australia? We really want to settle in Australia as soon
as possible so N can start school there but don't know the best way
to proceed.
Furthermore will N be able to start secondary school in any of these
circumstances? Our long terms goal is for her to attend university
there but we are also concerned about fees and shortage of places.
Any opinions welcomed either to the group or to my email.
Thanks in advance.
