I filed for an I-539 B2 extension about 7 days ago and just got a letter
from the BCIS that:
"the above application or petition, along with any check or other form
of fee payment, is attached. the application or petition cannot be
accepted because the proper fee of $140.00 US is not attached. since the
case is not properly filed, a priority or processing date cannot be
assigned. please attach a check or money order for this amount and
resubmit this entire package to the address listed below. to speed
processing, please leave this notice on top."
okay, they didnt update their website, where it still says $120.00, at
least they gave me another chance to send it in and they were quite
friendly on the phone ..i also got someone within 2 minutes when i
called, weird hm? but anyways, the point is that i received the above
response within 7 days of my filing!! was it assigned to an officer that
fast? or do they do 'pre-screening' and opening the letters, checking
who paid, etc. before it goes to an officer? that was Nebraska, btw.
where it usually takes 5 months
