Default Somebody help me for god sake.

Dear Friends I need a clear response. if anyone knows the answer to this
question I would be very thankfull.

1. I am 24 years old.
2. Our visa (subclass BN 136) was granted 07 July 2005 to all the
Family members.
3. We are a family of Five.
4. My father is the main applicant and I am totally dependent on him.
5. We made our initial entry to Australia, our visa was stamped, stayed
there for two weeks and then returned to our home country.
As far as I know we have a five year period from the date of grant of
visa to stay for two years and get our citizenship. Now here is the
important question.

Currently because of some reasons I cannot go to Australia. *Will I be
granted citizenship if only my father goes to Australia and stays there
for two years while I am in my home country and finishing my studies* or
Do I have to be with him living in Australia. Remember I am his
dependant and he pays for all my expenses. even if he moves to
australia he will send me some money every while.

I would be very thnakful if you give me a clear response as I am to
make a critical decisssion.

Thank you very much all.
Sam

What's stopping you from contacting the Australian immigration office where
you live and posing your situation to them so that they can give you some
clear options in return?

Good luck in your decision...

In future, you will need to qualify for citizenship or a resident return
visa as an individual.

I have an opposite reaction. Your father as a citizen have right to
register his children as australian citizen. there is an age limit at
the moment but from 2007 this age limit is going to go away. the only
problem is for your mom (if she does not travel) only she have to
qualify on her own (i.e. live in australia for 3 years atleast...
currently 2 years required but after new legislation it will be 3 years)

So as far as you are concerned.. you should be fine.

Refer to http://www.citizenship.gov.au/law-and-policy/overview/index.htm
and see under DECENT and you will see that the age limitation will be
gone. and by the time your father applies (given he apply after Jan 2007
and legislation passes) you will be able to get ur citizenship while
being in your home country without coming to australia atall

good luck
