Default Skills assesment for IT profession

I'm currently working as a Software Analyst for this IT company for
4years now and had same experience for 2 years with another company.
Have also completed a two year diploma course in Electronics and
communication engineering and also a four year bachelors degree in
Agricultural (bioprocess) engineering. In both education qualification,
i've taken a few classes that covers some programming including C
language and Mathlab. Other work experience includes working three
years in a petrochemical company as a process technician. My question
is do i have enough requirements for the skills accessment. The only
other course i've taken which is relevant to IT was Winrunner for
Advanced Users here in the US.Just want to be very sure that i meet the
requirements before wasting my money on any applcation fees.I trully
appreciate all the feedback!

From what you've written there, I'd be inclined to think that you don't
meet the requirements. But it would depend on the exact requirements of
your diploma and degree. I would suggest speaking to an expert - most
agents will give you a free assessment before you commit to anything.

Ainsley,

I dealt with George Lombard and also Jeremy Jenkins through him.

Top quality throughout and very quick email responses

you have over 6 years experience as a S/W engineer, the ACS should grant
you a positive assessment. Have a look at their website for the current
guidlines but I don't think you will have any problems. Obviously the
only question is going to be over your degree being unrelated to IT but
with the 6 years industry experience I would be surprised if you
received a rejection.

I think you should be alright too, however you would probably have to
provide an RPL document for this, which can be a pain to compile from
what I've heard

If you are under 30 and agricultural engineering is a 60 point skill.
You may be better applying under this skill. As this way you won't have
to go through the RPL rigmarole.

I have enough IT experience to get an RPL, but used my electronics
degree to get accreditation via the Insititute of Electrical Engineers.
It took three weeks to get my qualifications accredited and was a lot
less hassle than doing a RPL.

I missed out on 5 points, but because I was under 30 I still
qualified for a 136

Cheers

Alex
