Default Silly spouse visa application question

Okay I know the visa powers that be don't want pages clipped together or
anything in albums etc. I do have some original documents such as our
wills and a divorce decree that are more than one page long and are
stapled together. Do they not want things like that stapled together?
Seems like it would be a bit of a challenge to keep the proper pages
together if they are all just floating free. Also, and this is the
really silly part, would it be too anal to put post-its on each document
to show what it is? Should I have a master "what's included" list?

Thanks,
Paula

You
should have a master list (table of contents). There are lots of
different ways to present your info. I did mine by separating the
sections with folder dividers, numbered to co-ordinate with TOC. For
things like my bank statements I highlighted some of the key
transactions and wrote on the first page what some of them were (ie.
birthday present, online tnf into his a/c etc). I think if you have a
TOC then you probably don't need to put post-it's on everything,
possibly just one or two of the less obvious things. My TOC is below if
it helps. You also need a covering letter, even if its just very brief.

Items I sent in for my de facto visa

This list is incredibly helpful. Thank you so much. I do have one more
question. Did you have to send certified copies plus a regular copy? (I
read this somewhere and don't know if it's accurate).

Paula

No
probs. Like Kala says, its one or the other. Either a certified copy
(for the important stuff!) or a photocopy (things like bank statements
and phone bills!)

Send as much as you can but DO NOT STAPLE THEM!! They hate that!!!
Just paper clip them together. When our solicitor signed our copy wills
he stamped and signed each individual page.....

We sent our spouse visa
application in on Thursday 30th June - Credit Card Payment taken 1/7/04
and visa was issued on 6/7/04.....

Cheers and good luck

Sam&Andy

Don't send originals of anything unless they ask for them. It meant I
mailed off a bunch of notarised stuff, but they haven't complained about
them yet. The did get some originals though, as my two kids' citizenship
by descent applications required them.
