I have just had my interview at the US consulate in Singapore.
Coincidentally my USC fiance was here at the time and accompanied me to the
meeting. He was allowed entry into the building but I had to be on my own
with the initial interviewer (while he sat in the waiting area about 6 ft
away) who checked all documents, asked certain questions, etc. The
interviewer was friendly and very pleasant and even commented that I was
very lucky to be accompanied by my fiance when I was asked and I indicated
that the USC fiance was there sitting calmly waiting for me.
The 2nd officer then came and I had to take an oath that everything
submitted was factual and he asked my fiance (who then joined us) certain
questions and then smilingly told us that we would be approved and wished us
all the best.
I think it does help when the USC is there and them seeing both parties.
It's not as terrifying as one tends to "predict" it might turn out to be.
Good luck to both of you.
