Default Should I expect confirmation letter after PR card application?

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering, after people send applications for PR cards to
Sydney, NS, do they get any confirmation letters that the application
has been received? I have landed in 2000 and applied for PR card early
September this year. Canada post tells me that my application package
has been delivered properly, but it has been over a month and a half
since I mailed it, and I still have no confirmation from CIC. Is there
something to worry about?

Thanks in advance.

There is no confirmation letter. You will have to wait until you receive
the call in letter for pick up or some indication that your application has
a problem. The CIC website shows processing times. www.cic.gc.ca

Thank you for your reply. Actually, I checked with the web-site and
they have an e-client where you can check status of your application
online. It is really cool. I just found out that my application was
approved 2 weeks ago and that I should expect a letter with instructions
as to where to go and pick it up within 4 weeks from the date of
approval. I really liked that.

Thanks for your response once again.

Dear friend:

I saw your post in the news groups: misc.immigrantion.canada regarding
the confirmation letter of PR card. I also used this cool e-client
service to check my applicatoin status of PR card. My application is
approved on Oct,15. I was told to get a letter within 4 weeks. But so
far more than 4 weeks I have not receive any letter from Card center.

I just wonder if you have receive this letter within 4 weeks from the
date of approval. I am anxious to wait for this letter as I have to
book my flight ticket to Canada.

Thanks and regards

Andey

No, I have not received any letter yet. My case was approved on October
22nd, which makes next Wednesday (November 19th) the end of the fourth
week. I do not expect the CIC services to be extremely punctual and
will wait for another week or two before contacting them. I hope you
receive yours soon. Good luck!
