Default Rome/Florence Hotels

Has anyone here had personal experience with these hotels?
Rome; Hotel Forte near the Spanish Steps, Hotel Traiano, Hotel Bolivar, both
near the Coloseum.
Florence; Kraft Hotel.

We have been to Europe many times but this is our first trip to Rome and
Florence. Any experience you've had with these establishments that you would
care to share would be appreciated.

I haven't stayed at the Kraft in Florence but have had drinks on their
lovely roof top terrace complete with large tree. It is a nice location
-- fairly quiet but still a short stroll along the Arno to the center of
town. People we met who were staying there were pleased with it. It is
one we will definitely consider if we are in Florence for too short of
time for an apartment. It is also an easy walk to the American church
which is a lovely congregation of friendly people with an exceptionally
charming pastor who welcomes and includes transient visitors. Good
place to meet people if you are an English speaker.

I guess that when I met you in via Palazzuolo at 10am on a Sunday
morning you were going there :-)

The question about Hotel Kraft already faced in this newsgroup. I, also,
only had drinks on the roof terrace; but I pointed that a lot of artists
performing in the nearby opera house use the Kraft. I directed a
newsgroup user to this hotel and I had good reports back from him.
