Hi Lindsey,
Your position is exactly same as mine. I also received a similar kind of
medical furtherance request from CIC though the designated medical
practitioner didn't call us to inform any abnormalities. It turns out
that my spouse had typhoid some years back and CIC has requested further
tests for typhoid to verify my spouse is not carrying typhoid virus
now. These tests are not covered under medical practitioner and he has
requested us to perform these typhoid test at some private clinic and
has just requested test results submitted to him for him to forward to
CIC. Hope this helps.
