Default request for more tests

Hi
I am curious - my family and I did our medicals and the practitioner
did not call us to say that anything was wrong
then last week our lawyer got a message to say that I (the main
applicant) needs to do more test/s....
no one but the doctor can open this letter - and so I have been left
feeling very anxious about this for the last week...

does anyone know
a) is this common - to ask for more tests?
b) for what kinds of reasons do they ask for more tests?

any help would be really greatly appreciated

thanks
Lindsey

Hi Lindsey,

Your position is exactly same as mine. I also received a similar kind of
medical furtherance request from CIC though the designated medical
practitioner didn't call us to inform any abnormalities. It turns out
that my spouse had typhoid some years back and CIC has requested further
tests for typhoid to verify my spouse is not carrying typhoid virus
now. These tests are not covered under medical practitioner and he has
requested us to perform these typhoid test at some private clinic and
has just requested test results submitted to him for him to forward to
CIC. Hope this helps.

It is not unusual for further tests to be requested. Sometimes they are as
simple as testing your eyes with glasses, signing the form (when it was
forgotten to do so). Of course, sometimes it is more serious.
