Renne, sheree,

Immigration should care nor judge as to how you guys meet, (not to mention
your professional qualifications) you could've been a prostitute and after
first session with the guy you could've decided to be together and then to
marry, and it would be just as legit as thousands of other different
circumstances under which you could have met.

A bientôt, Jean Paul

P.S. Renee take it easy, immigration Canada does not read your posts and
then compare them against to what you've put on your application.

P.S. P.S. you can use anti fog for your glases.

LOL...the glasses don't get fogged up *too* much, so it's all good.

I wasn't that worried about proving my relationship until I read the CIC
inland processing manuals when I was still assembling my PR package.
There's a section somewhere in there about evaluating relationships, and it
specifically mentions people who met online. I was afraid that CIC would be
harder on me because we dated between the eastern U.S. and western Canada in
the beginning (with the airfare to prove it)...I thought that they'd somehow
think we had less of a relationship or something. I can't appeal as an
inland applicant, and if I was to be refused, I'd have already been out of
work for a year while waiting for my wedding date, and then my PR
processing. I didn't want to have to go back to the U.S. and set up a
temporary residence so I could reapply through Buffalo and wait another
year. My life's already on hold, so I wanted everything to be really clear
in the inland package.

I don't worry that CIC reads my posts here - it doesn't really matter if
they did, because the story is the same. I just figured someone would read
that I was engaged after spending 11 days in the same room with my
then-fiance, and think I up and moved to Canada right after that without
more visits and time together. Even if I did, what's it to 'em, eh, but I
guess I just got tired of people in my life second guessing me before I
moved here. I posted what I did in reply to someone else thinking that I
had less respect for people who were married after knowing each other for
less time than I had known my husband. Quite the opposite is true, and I
figured that sharing my 11 days story would show that. I'm just one of
those sparkly people who wishes everyone the best...and one who wanted her
own PR application to have everything I could put in it to avoid the need
for an interview that would delay the process.
