Default Really Confused and help me guys please!

Hello All,

I finished my B.Sc. from Bangalore Uni back in late 2000 and then came
to AU for my Masters and I have already finished my Graduate Diploma in
IT. I am yet to apply for my ACS assessment and the problem is I had a
break for about one and half year after finishing my B.Sc. So in the ACS
form should I put the B.Sc. education detail under the Tertiary
Education field. As far I know ACS is gonna assess my Australian Degree.
My B.Sc. was not Total IT content. I had Major in Comp SC. , Maths and
Physics and teh new rule effective from Oct 2002 is going to affect me.
Does anybody has any idea about the New ACS Rules. I have gone through
the ACS guidelines but it's confuses me most of the time. Is time break
after my Graduation a matter to ACS?

Pls let me know you guys. Answer me guys and I have some more questions
as I am yet to apply for my ACS assesment probably by tomorrow.

Thanks in Advance to you all,

As an Australin IT graduate whithin the last 6 months, you will be
assessed under Group C for which October 1 rules do not apply. The gap
between your BSc and PGDIT will have no adverse effect. You can quote
your BSc and PGDIT as tertiary education an apply for ACS assessment.
You won't even have to nominate an ASCO code in the ACS application form
because ACS will do that for you.

Just a point to think about: If you believe you may not get your ACS
assessment before April 1, 2004, and consequently would not be able to
lodge your 880 before April 1, it would be a wise idea to apply for a
497 visa. Othewise, you would be required to meet the 2-year rule when
you lodge your PR application after April 1. Having applied for a 497
visa will allow you to apply for PR with the one-year study requirement
even after April 1.
