Question:

Imagine a person is well over 21 and married with children,
and their father (USC) has applied for residency for his daughter,
spouse, and their children.

Would that person be able to get a tourist
visa? If so, would that person be able to adjust status once they enter
the country, or would they have to leave again?

How long is the
approximate processing time in a situation like this, and is there any
way to speed the process up?

Any information that anyone can offer on a
situation like this would be appreciated!

They would come under third
preference ..currently working on application received Oct 1997 so about
7 years, if the current speed is maintained... I know of no way to speed
up this particular process.

If the family is from INDIA MEXICO
PHILIPPINES it will be longer.

Thanks for the information. Do you know if they would be able to adjust
status if they were able to enter on a tourist visa (the father is USC
and the son is LPR, but should be USC in about 3 years.)
