Hi everyone,

Is there anyway to order a Police certificate online or no?

I wondered whether this was possible as the last one I ordered has just
expired, and I have my interview coming up this feb/march so i want to
get another.

Cheers

James

Try this link. I got my form online, printed it out and sent it off
with the fee.

No worries.

Out of curiousity, how long is the UK certificate good for?

You can't actually apply for the police report online, you have to go
through a third party police service who forwards your request to
Scotland Yard.

It takes roughly 40 days (give or take) and is valid for one year. It
doesn't have an expiration date; its the consulate that will not accept
it if it is more than 12 months old.

Our UK Police Certificate took 10 days! Sent out the form December 12th and
received the certificate on the 22nd. 40 Days is the maximum.

Ha! We thought we'd get lucky like that as well. My fiance received his
Scottish certificate back in about 5 days. However, instead of receiving
the proper certificate from Scotland Yard, he got a letter asking him if
he's ever had an injunction or restraining order against him!! He's
never had one against him, so now he's very worried that there's some
kind of identity theft, or someone with the same name & a criminal past
that will somehow affect the police cert & our visa. Hopefully we'll get
this sorted out soon though! Arrggghh..wish everything wasn't such a
hassle sometime!

Jamie

I downloaded the Met Police form too. You have to then post it to them
with a cheque but it does mean you can do it from wherever you are.

Have a look at my timeline.
