Hi,

I was just wondering how many people are in the same boat we are.
We had our interview June 3rd 2004 in Baltimore and the officer told us
she had approved us subject to the results coming back from the FBI on
the background/name check. She said it could be be tomorrow, it could
be a month or two, but a month later we still have not heard anything.
We have no I-551 stamp as the results weren't back, so if we want to
travel we still have to go and get AP, which we are desperately trying
to avoid the cost of if we can help it.

So how many others are awaiting
on FBI checks? I thought I read that they were doing something to
address the backlog, but from seeing odd posts here it doesn't appear to
be working very well.

Lee

We are in the same boat. Approved AOS at Houston office in August
2003. Still waiting for card and I-551 stamp pending additional
security checks and recovery of permanent file from 'archives'. My
wife did get refingerprinted last week (why we had to do this, I have
no idea except maybe to get new digital fingerprints), so maybe we are
finally getting some progress.

Regards, Tim

My AOS interview in Baltimore was Jan 29th, which was deemed successful
pending the results of my background check. Yesterday I received two
letters dated July 2nd stating that my application for permanent
residence has been approved, and I should be receiving my card in 9-12
months.

Good luck everyone else.
