The non
immigrant visa number is the red one on your K-1 visa in the passport. I
was told that when I asked the question a few days ago!

I have 1
question if I can hijack your thread. We cannot find the "fiance visa
approval notice" what can we do about that? I have the actual visa in my
passport!!

Hi:

The
question pre-dates the use of the current day "machine readable visas."
The old style "Bouroughs" visas did have a "visa number."

Use the
"control number." Do NOT use the red number -- that is the number of
the paper on which the actual visa is printed.

[That said, many people
have used the red number because bad advice has gotten out on the
internet. I have NEVER heard of this causing a problem.].

Just one more thing, I've been looking around at related threads and saw
that you're attaching 6 photo's with your AOS package. I saw one
checklist saying that you had to attach a photo to the G-325A form too.
It could be for a different office (it wasn't Boston) but maybe just
sticking another photo on would be worthwhile! Better to have too many
than not enough right?
