A new visa grant will supercede any existing visa, including a
permanent visa.
A new visa application (in this case a work visa application) has no
immediate bearing on an existing permanent visa application. However,
you should notify DIMIA/ASPC that you have an existing permanent visa
application in the system. If you get your permanent visa granted first,
you should take immediate steps to withdraw your work visa application.
