Default question on EU immigration general

Hi. I am a U.S. citizen interested in emigrating to the EU. My question is, do I have any kind of advantage as a U.S. citizen as far as my chances of getting approved? Or is the country of origin not a factor when it comes to immigration?

You have 0 advantage over a citizen of any other country, and you may even be at a disadvantage.

I know that the US has immigration quotas for each country. Western European countries are at a disadvantage when compared to other countries. I think the UK has similar preferences. Basically, people from poorer countries hvaemore urgent need to emigrate, so they take precedence. I'm not actually sure of any of this, but from reading about immigration in different countries, this is the impression I get.

would be nice if there was a quota because i dont think many american quotas would be filled since not many americans emigrate.
