Default Question for Mr. Andrew Miller

Hi Andrew,

I had posted a few questions to which you had answered earlier.
I did as per your advice and things have proceeded as expected.

I have pasted my earlier questions to you in this email after my
current question.

I am in Canada on a Work Permit. My wife and baby are in India. My
wife's X-rays are pending , since she was pregnant at the time she and
I did our medicals. Our medicals were done more than a year back in
Canada by a Canadian DMP.My baby's medicals were done in India. The
Canadian doctor had suggested to CIC that we be given provisional PR
on the condition that my wife finishes her X-rays after her delivery.

Question: Can my wife do just her X-rays from the Indian DMP where she
did my baby's medicals and ask the DMP to send the X-rays to Ottawa or
does she have to do them from the Canadian DMP.

For doing the medicals from the Indian DMP we do not have any
documents which we could give to the DMP since we gave them to the
Canadian DMP the first time and he sent them to Ottawa. In such case,
should I give a letter from myself to the DMP with my File number and
other details explaining the situation and request him to do the
X-rays.CIC did not send any other documents to us for my wifes X-rays
or another round of medicals.

Thank you,
Regards,

Rajat.

PREVIOUSLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND YOUR REPLIES TO THEM.

Andrew,
About 2 months back I had posted a query and you had advised me. I
have done accordingly (i.e. I have sent the baby's photos, photocopies
of baby's passport and birth certificate to CIC Buffalo). Can you
please let me know what I should expect from CIC Buffalo now.

I have posted the old question and answers below:

Thank you for your kind advice.

Andrew and others,

With reference to your suggestions (to my earlier questions, which I
have copied below) I have a few more questions :

I was with my wife in Canada when our medicals were done. She was
feeling very sick during her entire pregnancy and hence we got the
delivery of the baby done in India (which is my home country). It
takes minimum 2.5 months to get the passport for the baby (due to the
birth certificate , passport process).

1) Can we get her X-rays completed from a approved DMP in India so
that my wife does not have to travel to Canada just to do her X-rays.

2) Can I assume that CIC has put my processing on hold and that they
are waiting for the results of the process or can assume that since my
wife was in Canada, they would have thought that she would get the
baby in
Canada and the baby would be born as a Canadian citizen.

3) Do I update the CIC only after I get the babys passport or can I
update them with all the other information except the passport.Should
I ask CIC to put the processing on hold.

Thank you all.

Sincerly,
Rajat.

There is no fixed processing time after medicals - it may take
anywhere from
3 to 12+ months from completed medicals. Your medicals are not
completed at
all as your wife didn't take x-rays - you should go back to the
original DMP
and complete your wife's medicals. You must also immediately notify
Buffalo
about new baby, submit updated forms, baby's birth certificate, copy
of
passport, photos and processing fee and ask for medical forms for the
baby.

1) Medicals should be completed by the same DMP who examined you
originally.
By going to different DMP you are only asking for troubles. It may be
a good
idea for your wife to undergo complete medicals (not just x-rays) with
DMP
in India if you cannot travel to Canada to see the original DMP.

2) Yes, your process is on hold until medicals are completed. Nobody
would
assume that baby was born in Canada. What gave you such idea in the
first
place?

3) You may submit baby's information, documents, photos and fees
without
copy of the passport just to get medical forms for the baby, but
process
will not be later completed without baby's passport anyway.
