Question about DS-156 - Bit worried now :-(
Hi All,
I just submitted my DS-156 to London (along with all the other forms, 156K,
230ii etc) a few days ago. The instructions that London sent me were just
to submit the forms and nothing else, as everything else I'd then need to
bring with me to the interview. I was a bit concerned about what to do with
the photos I'd had taken though - the DS-156 had a space to "attach photos
here" but the instructions also said to bring the photos with me to the
interview. I was sure I'd read on the London Embassy website that you just
take the photos with you to the interview and do NOT stick them onto the
form yourself as they're supposed to do that there upon approval.
Unfortunately, I couldn't confirm this as the London Embassy website was
down for two days. So I packaged up the forms with a covering letter and
sent them all off, thinking that they were bound to only need the photos at
the actual interview and not along with the forms.
Now I can get back into the London Embassy site and I cannot for the life of
me find anywhere that says whether I should or should not have included the
photos. More worrying still is that I filled out a set of PDF documents of
these forms, printed them and mailed them. I then read on the website that
you have to fill it out online in order to get the embedded barcode or else
it will take longer to process.
Can someone confirm that I was right/wrong by not including the photos, and
also what sort of delay do you think I'll be looking at if they don't have
the barcode on the forms? Should I redo them online (now that I actually
can) and mail a new set, or would that just confuse matters?
Thanks for any help,
Alex
