Hi,
I am looking to get a PCC from Qatar and am frustrated to say the very
least.
Qatar Embassy will take fingerprints that are only certified by the
Secretary of State, in US. I do not have a clue how to get it done as
I am living in Canada. I tried contacting the CEID department in Doha,
Qatar directly. No response from them as yet.

Hence wanted to know if anybody succeeded in getting a PCC from Qatar.
And if i explain the situation to Buffalo, will they waive the
requirement ??

Rules could have changed but I got one pre-9/11. I was living in the
US then and I simply went to my township police and have myself
fingerprinted. I then send the fingerprint card together with a
letter, and a copy of my passport pages detailing the dates of my stay
in Qatar to the Police Station in Doha (The one in Al Sadd, Right
behind the Blue glass mall). I then recieved my PCC from the Qatar
Internal Minister's Office. Turns out the police sent it to the
Ministry who in turn forwarded to me.
For the address look at the Qatar web site. Maybe you can do the same
process with the exception that you use a fingerprint card obtained
here in canada. Hope it will work.

Hey - another PCC clearance question from an ex-Qatari resident here.

I was there 3 years, but my PCC covers only the last year that I was there
(my original 2 year sponsorship was extended for a 3rd year).

Will the immigration folks in London have an issue with this? My logic
is - that Qatari security is pretty tight anyway, and that for them to have
extended my sponsorship (medical, background check etc.) then it follows
quite logically that for 2 years I was in the 'clear'. On leaving Doha, I
got a PCC, but it appears that only the dates for my last year of my
residence are listed.

Would this be a major obstacle - I haven't yet submitted my papers but
intend to send them off to London if this last bit is not going to be a
sticking point. Would the alternative be to go back and get a PCC for the
first two years as well?

Thank You for the response. THat is encouraging.
Glad if you can give me some info if you still remember.

Do u remember the address of qatar website ??
Did you send any money ??

When i checked with Australian immigration guide, they give an
address, but tells that a fee is payable. I hope that the guys whom I
have wrote to, sends me a letter with the information.
