Default proof of funds for foreign students vs. open work permit for spouse

hi everyone,

I'm a foreign student looking to extend my study permit. Can I use my
husband's potential income from his full-time job (in Canada) as proof
of funds? (he is currently with the OPEN WORK PERMIT from my study
permit)

Also, does CIC approve study permit more than 1 year? For example, a
4-year degree program to give out 4-year study permit?

Thanks for your input!
