Default Pregnant after Grant letter

Dear All,
need some advice on this.

We received our Grant letter in Nov 2004 and have got the visas in our
passports. At the same time, found out that I'm expecting. Am now
about 2.5mths
pregnant. Have already planned to validate the visas with a trip to OZ
in Jan 2005, when I'm about 4mths.

Question is :
Should I need to inform my CO(DIMIA) of the change in circumstances ?
Or should I just validate the visas in Jan and not inform them before
hand?
Just a bit concern with the second option as I still need to apply the
Child visa and DIMIA will know that we have not informed them of the
change in circumstances earlier.

Please advice. Just want to make the right decision.
Thanks.

cheers,
Shekinah

Hi,

Pregnency after the visa grant is not a change of Circumstance. Hence
there is no need to inform DIMIA about it.

this is to the best of my knowledge.

Congrats on the visa grant and for the new addition to your family

Cheers
Gun

Congrats on expecting.

There is no need of informing them. Just keep in mind that when you go
to OZ for validating ur visa, you "try" to hide the preg. on airport.
once you validate it u r OK. But again you MUST give birth to ur kid
While u r in OZ. A Delivery outside of OZ will cause complications.

It is according to best of my knowledge.

Hi Shekinah

You are have been granted PR visa.

Australian government would love if you give birth in Oz which increases
native born population. Neither need of hiding this information nor you
are bound to inform DIMIA. Their role is over.

Only factor you have to keep in mind is airlines. After probably 30 or
32 weeks they need medical NOC.

Good wishes to you and expected baby. He will be Australian citizen by
birth if born in Oz (being child of PR).

Regards

There is no evidence that immigration officers care about pregnancy when
a new PR arrives. And even if they did, there is no legal basis on
which they could cancel a PR visa on the basis of an *unborn* child.

A child *born* with health problems before validation would be a
different story.

From an Australian visa point of view, it's best to have the child born
in Australia. The child will be an Australian citizen automatically.

Otherwise you will need to sponsor for a Dependent Child migration visa
later on - new form, new fee, medical for baby etc.
