Default Police checks

We moved down from Scotland in 98,(I know you need to cover the last 10
years) will we have to apply for police checks to the Scottish force
where we used to live as well, or will we only need to apply through our
local police station here in Hants?? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Unfortunately you'll need to apply for Scottish ones as well, because
they are held separately from the England/Wales ones. However, speak to
the Scottish Criminal Records Office in Glasgow first, because if you
were still in Scotland they would send off to London for the
England/Wales one as well - without you having to pay twice and make a
separate application.
Whether they will do this as you no longer live in Scotland I'm not
sure, but worth asking - the local stations in Scotland may not know the
answer either, you'll need to contact either SCRO or a Force HQ.
If Scotland can't do the Police National Computer one for you, you will
need to make a separate application through Hants Police.
