Hi,

I am applying for Australian immigration and worried about the points
i may receive for age. My date of birth is 04-Feb-1970 and if I apply
after 04-Feb-2004 (in 2004) do I fall into age 30-34 year group ? I
require 25 points for age to qualify immigration. On 04-Feb-2004, I
would be completing 34 years.

The date your application is received at the moment is the date you date
of birth is applicable (may change - this is government do not forget!)



So basically get application in before Feb next year you are
34.....after that date you are 35.



Now we need a MARA agent to confirm this???

hi jojo,



you can apply right up to youre 35th birthday to get 25 points, as soon
as you strike 35 on 04/02/05, you will lose points.



DIMIA will take your age from date of application lodged, however this
may change, but as it stands that are the rules as of now.



if you are going to leave it late before applying, please allow
enough time for the post to deliver your application in time before
your 35th bday.

"Round down" when counting your age for Australian migration purposes.



If you are 34 years and 364 days old when your application is received
by DIMIA, you get points for being 34 years old.



If you are 35 years and 1 day old, you are 35 years old for
migration purposes.

Probably in Jan'04 itself.
