Photocopies, I864, PDF file
Hi all
Just in the process of doing our I-864 and we have a joint sponsor. I
have emailed the PDF file of the I-864 to our sponsor.
My question is: Can He just fill in the I - 864 and scan all his tax
forms into PDF files, his birth cert, etc into a pdf file and email them
back to me?
I know that I need to have the proper signature page so he is going to
post that out to us in the mail.
Has anyone else done something like this? It mentions copies of
all documents for the i-864 so scanning and printing them should
be ok right?
thank you

It's OK for now, as long as you include the original signature page.
Just make sure to have the original documents available to show the
officer at your AOS interview, just in case they ask for them. USCIS
won't keep them, so you can return them to the joint sponsor after that.
They *probably* won't even ask to see them, but you are *supposed* to
bring originals to the interview, of any documents you sent copies of
with your AOS package.

Thanks for the reply. This is for our i-130 interview in London. It
doesn't say that we need originals from the joint sponsor it states
copies to bring to interview?
Im just a bit confused. So I do need originals from a joint sponsor?
Do they need to be notorized?
Thank you

Oh, sorry...I was thinking it was for the AOS interview. To my
knowledge, one is supposed to bring originals of anything they are
turning in copies of, to the officer conducting whatever interview you
are attending. It's best to have the originals on hand, just in case.
Of course if you simply don't have them, then you don't. But I brought
originals to ours, just in case, even though they weren't asked for.
(not London, though...and no joint sponsor).

The supporting copies do not need to be notarized, no.

You need the originals. Have him send everything to you and if you are
afraid of them being lost have him send it fedex.
